Re: R1200R/R1250R must have accessories.

So you changed your mind a bit ! I like the spec you have gone for. Is a centre stand an option these days ? My bike seems to have been well spec'd by the original owner, but there were a couple of things that I have added :- -Front fender extender -Lock for sat nav to work with the central locking ...

Re: clutchless up changes without quickshifter

These days I'm riding a R1200RT watercooled with quickshifter. There was no quickshifter on my 2 previous RT's but I had no problem upshifting without a clutch. With my present bike, I find using the quickshifter a lot of fun, as you can just keep the throutle open while blipping through the gears.....

Re: Nav 6 - Fuel tracking

Found it....! Playing again tonight I found the fuel tracking. In map view, press the 3 bar button at the bottom right corner. Then scroll down to Fuel Settings. Here you can enable Fuel Tracking and set your "Distance Per Tank" as well as "Fuel Tank Warning". This should make the petrol station ico...

Old Foxy, when you say "miles remaining" do you mean miles remaining before fuel runs out ?

Nav 6 - Fuel tracking

Does anyone know if the Nav 6 has fuel traking ? i.e. ability to put in how many miles your bike does to a tank full and then warn you when you are within a pre-set distance to it ? My Zumo 595 does it, and I thought the Nav 6 does as well but I just can't find it..... Advantage of this being it wil...

Picked up the bike yesterday and the manual confirms that the bike comes with only one proper key and one emergency key.

Re: Software updates

So not such a silly question after all..... Just had a call from dealer to apologize that due to their move to new location at the weekend, they can't get their system working so can't upgrade the software. They did offer to come and pick the bike up and carry out the update when their system comes ...

Re: No. of keys supplied for keyless bikes

Thanks Old Foxy.
I'll be picking up my 66 plate 1200RT LE later today.
I know the bike only has one proper key, but wasn't sure if that was normal or if the previous owner had lost one.
Thanks for confirming.

No. of keys supplied for keyless bikes

Hi all
Can anyone, who purchased a new 1200 RT LE with keyless system, tell me how many "proper" keys came with the bike ?
I know they come with an emergency key as well, but was wondering about the other proper key with push buttons came with the bike.

Re: Software updates

Thanks everyone I've emailed the dealer to say when they start work on the bike, could they make sure the software is updated. I have no idea if there is such a think but might as well ask ! Thanks gogs01. This will be my 3rd RT but I'm still excited to start playing with the new one now that the su...

Software updates

I've finally made the decision to upgrade my 2012 RT to a 2016 version. I was always hesitant as I didn't want to give up my lovely rail mounted tank bag or to have to give up my Zumo 595 for a BMW Navigator. Any way, now that decision has been made and deal struck, I've been looking up various info...

Re: Stalling and Surging

It sounds to me as if your FPC is a newer one, so it should be ok.
I remember there is a way to by pass the FPC if you wanted to be absolutely sure.
I can't find my info at the moment, but a search around this site should help you with finding that info.

Re: Stalling and Surging

Not sure how to test, but take a look at your FPC. If the fins are furred up then it's worth changing anyway.

Re: Stalling and Surging

My previous bike was the 2007 version and your problem sounds similar to what I had suffered. Check to see if the Fuel Pump Controller was ever renewed. This was the same unit as used on the GS models, and although the GS models had a recall for the FPC, the RT models didn't ! Changing it isn't too ...

Re: R1200RT - How much for a 24k service ?

I guess my way of thinking is to get them to service it, and let them tell me if there is anything extra needed, at which point I can decided whether to let them do it, or do the job myself. Unfortunately I'm not blessed with a big garage or lots of tools, so I can only do small jobs. Also, never se...

Re: R1200RT - How much for a 24k service ?

End result was a bill for £515, which included £45 for cleaning the front brakes. One strange thing.....they said one of the front headlight bulbs had gone, but they wanted £27 to change it...!! So I said no, I'll do it myself. However when I got home and checked, I couldn't find any blown bulbs. No...

Mine is booked with Oxford BMW for Tuesday.
