10mm Nicht gut.

What spring rate do you have ?

25mm is nearer the mark.

Re: K100 /1100 Streetfighter update

Just an update on the spindle conversion. He will now include the new purpose made top hat spacer for the LH side [ from the front ] and the final cost for the kit is £105.

Re: K100 /1100 Streetfighter update

The first "production" front wheel spindle conversion set has been made. I'm just proving it out now, but the plan is to get a run of 5 [ maybe 10 ] made - depending on interest. We've made a small mod as we've decided to make a new spacer / cover for the left hand side [ looking from front ]. That ...

Re: K100 /1100 Streetfighter update

The alloy parts are now at the workshop - just waiting on Pete the Polish. He's here in the UK for the next 12 weeks, then off on his travels. Hopefully he can fit them in for me. The forks and front wheel are also down with my machine shop guy and I should have the first spindle conversion back fro...

Re: r80 rear subframe

We supplied several shox for this application ... 100% positive feedback but the investment cost in having the relevant parts made made it uneconomical for productionising. Minimum order for machined parts - 100 !!!

Re: r80 rear subframe

George is this the set up ? I wouldn't even consider using one of the original pair for this ! Noweher near strong enough. We [ RAM ], supplied several shox for this set up about 6 years ago, but weren't popular enough to make the cost of investing in the special extensions viable. Might still be so...

Re: r80 rear subframe

Alexxx ... OK I have it now. That's a whole different can of worms. A couple of options - IF there is room mount the lower eye of the shock to the inside of the existing mount ... I've done this with some Hondas. We [ RAMSHOX ] did then develop an offset mount, but there was no real call for these a...

Re: r80 rear subframe

sh1-1.jpg Rob .... not so. I've been involved in the development and subsequent manufacture of speciality shox for over 15 years. Absolutely NO reason to suspect additional wear. You do have to factor in a LOSS of effective poundage of the springs due to increasing the angle. Remember old Velos ? T...

Re: K100 /1100 Streetfighter update

They do indeed George. One of the last jobs Pete took before he "retired". I had to really plead with him to do them as he was already winding down. It was only the fact I'd had him do several jobs before [ including my Guzzi Cafe Racer tank ] that he agreed !! =D> It was an absolute pleasure to go ...

Re: K100 /1100 Streetfighter update

I retrieved the Pete Kyte side panels from my garage today and thankfully they have suffered no damage while they've been stored. =D> He actually made and fitted them to my bike which I left with him together with my CAD patterns [ cardboard aided design ] hence the little touches like the spacer bu...

Re: K100 /1100 Streetfighter update

And for those that get all excited about front and rear wheel offest with these wheel combos .... it makes NO DIFFERENCE to the handling . Even BMW give offset values in the OEM manual I recall many years ago, Bike magazine, some team that raced an airhead chopped the steering head off to align it ...

Re: K100 /1100 Streetfighter update

Talking of the Far East. I picked up this beauty on Chinabay for my KZ 750 60's style Cafe Racer ..... I paid £25 for it and it arrived in 7 days. I bought a very similar item 5 years ago from a well known UK company - cost me £105 !! I'm ordering another .... you never know when you might need anot...

Re: K100 /1100 Streetfighter update

Yes George - all checked OK.

One of the project bikes I bought years ago had a blob of chewing gum that had been overpainted in the same paint as the tank !!!! With all that effort why not seal the leak properly !! It was literally a pin hole.

My " paint stripped and dent free " tank arrived ..... and it was !Couldn't be happier. \:D/ I'll dig the alloy Pete Kyte side panels out of the garage and get the lot polished when my pal gets back to his workshop. I've also got a set of downpipes that I had highly poished .... then forgot all abou...

Re: OILHEAD [ R1100S BASED ] CAFE RACER.

They are a bunch of crooks Ced !! [-X Let's see if this works. Apart from the obvious changes and mods to suspension, bodywork, brakes, etc there are many subtle touches. The "tank" is in fact a cover for an alloy fuel cell we built housing all the original electronic squitter. The biggest headache ...

Something seems to have gone amiss with the Photophuckit images - they are rubbish those peeps. I'll try to send via someone else. It’s the latest Photobucket ‘thing’ to try and drive people to buy an expensive membership. Every month or two they pull a different stunt. They did a "Hi-Jack about 3 ...
