Hi
where are you based?

Can you give us a link to the one you bought so we can have a look? Is it a pulse pick up type, I suspect it is, or a GPS type?

Do you know what the 4 wires are? I suspect 0V, 12V and 2 signals, 1 pulse and 1 for illumination

Please dont destroy the clocks if you dont need to, let's see if we can make the 16 quid one work for you

Hi George,

I think this is the one, it appears to be cable driven.

Hi
if Mark has identified it correctly (and I am sure he has) it looks like a brave decision to take it on as a project. --- No data, km/h readings, cable drive (K has magnetic pick up)

Feature:
1. LCD digital display
2. Oil measurement function
3. Speed measurement function (0-10000RPM)
4. Speed measurement function (0-199KM/H)-----------------YOU KNOW KM/H GAUGE?
5. Mileage display------------------SHOWN IN KM IN THE PICTURES
6.Easy to install.
7.Fits for all motorcycle.
8.High capacity and practical.
9.General mechanical speed line interface.-----------CABLE
10.ODO/TRIP function can be switched on the black button on the back of the meter------------TOGGLE?

Wire connection:
Black = Positive
Green = Negative
Blue White = Oil Gauge
Yellow Black = Tachometer Signal

.

There is no data so start by trying to work out how it works. I would (But it is YOUR risk)
1 Bolt it down safely and apply a fused, switched 12V supply, Black = Positive & Green = Negative
2 Switch on and see what the system shows
3 Apply a signal Blue White = Oil Gauge, 12V On, 0V Off or the other way round?
4 Apply a signal generator to the Yellow Black = Tachometer Signal, I am guessing it should be a sine wave at 12V
5 Vary the frequency and see if the Tachometer does what you expect.

6 Make up a speedo cable and prepare to drive it from a variable speed electric drill
7 Apply Drive to cable input and see if you get a reading for the VERY SLOWEST speed you can get from the drill
8 If there is no reading increase drill speed, if it shows a reading you need to calculate speed shown vs drill speed
9 IT IS JUST POSSIBLE THAT THE SPEEDO HAS A PROGRAMMABLE RATIO CONVERTER INSIDE BUT........

I think you would be better off with something like a GPS-Speedo

Good Luck, report back and let's see if you can make it work

EDIT 1
the pictures in the advert dont match each other and show fuel gauge rather than oil pressure but the part number is the same

EDIT 2
EVEN BETTER ebay search for Motorcycle 20000 RPM Digital Backlight Speedometer Odometer Tachometer KM/H MPH
