Seeking restorer for late 50's R50

Postby mikeg » Fri Jan 29, 2016 12:40 am

Sadly my father-in-law passed away last year and in clearing out his volumous garage I have uncovered what I believe to be his late 50's R50. The bike is dismantled, everything is in pieces and all in boxes. I know the bike was complete when he purchased it in the 1990s and he dismantled it with the intent of doing a rebuild; a project he never started.

I would love to see it back in running order and am pretty sure all the parts are there. However, I do not believe I have the skills to do the job myself, I don't even have a garage, and am looking for a company that could restore/rebuild.

I live in Essex and would, ideally, like to find someone locally so that I could see the project as it progresses but am happy to travel further afield to get to the right person.

Does anyone have any knowledge of or recommendations for any restorer that might be able to help?

Thanks for your help.

Mike

Hi Mike

You could have a chat with Bob Porecha. If you Google "Bob Porecha BMW" you will get his contact details.

I hope this helps

I think Phil The Boxerman and founder of the forum still does restoration work
