Help VIN decoder

Postby enkopkaffe » Sat Jul 23, 2016 8:50 pm

Hi!

Can anybody help me how to access the info on:

http://bimmer.work/
(there are numerous other sites with the same vin decoder, but they are all the same, I guess)

The problem is quite simple:
They write "Just type in the 7 last digits of your vehicles identification number" works on all bmw from 1923.
The problem is simple: All bmw motorcycles, with the exceptions of the last 3 year production of R60/2 have less than 7 digits so it does not work. I have written to BMW in germany and asked them what to do, but no answer!

Best regards Peter from Denmark

Search won't work for pre /5 machines as you only have 6 digits.

Use this site: http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/select?vin=6462975 You will have to look manuallly tho

But on this homepage:
http://www.bmwarchiv.de/vin/
they write the following:
"BMW VIN-Decoder für alle BMW Fahrzeuge von 01/1928 bis 07/2016
(inklusive: Motorräder, Mini, Rolls Royce)"
In english: BMW vin-decoder for all BMW's from 1928-2016 (including motorcycles, Mini, Rolls Royce)

It seems funny if the above quote does not include any of the motorcycles from 1928-1969.

A space in front of number, Ihave tried that.
Also a "r", "*", "m", "x"...
One could also put something behind the number. Not working with the ones I have tried!

My guess is that it does not work no matter what you do??

I´ve been in contact with Audi, because I also have, beside my bmw's, a Neckarsulm (early NSU) from 1906, they have the old log-books and gave me all the information they had free of charge. Goood service. Salute =D>
