Oughtred P no longer with us

Postby Jaythro » Tue Jun 11, 2019 7:49 am

I spotted this today and thought some of you may have known Phil

Just heard that Phil's funeral will be next Tuesday 18th June 2019 at 2.30pm. There will be a celebration of his life afterwards at Lumley Castle.

If clarification of location is needed I can ask the guy that posted it

RIP Sir

Shame. Knew OF Phil through the BM club forum but not personally. Sorry to hear of his passing.

Peter kindly forwarded this ..

From the BMW NE Section

On Thursday 6th June Phil Oughtred sadly passed away and we have lost another valued and treasured friend from our section. The arrangements for his funeral are as follows:

On Tuesday 18th June at 2:00pm the cortege will be leaving from Phil and Marjorie's home (see below for address) and will be heading to Birtley Crematorium for the service at 2:30pm.

There will be a celebration of Phil's life being held at Lumley Castle after the service. The family are inviting us to share our memories of Phil during this time together. Please have a think and be prepared to share something if you are able to.

Phil's family has arranged for a motorcycle with hearse outfit to take Phil on his final ride and they have asked for as many bikes to accompany it as possible.

If you are able to ride, please bring your bike and make this a memorable celebration of Phil's life. I will be parked on my GS on Strathmore Road, near the entrance to Phil and Marjorie's lane at 1.30pm. Please arrive no later than 1:45pm and join me ready to follow the cortege.
