F650 ST Tyres

Postby mobydick » Thu Aug 09, 2018 9:45 am

My recently acquired ST is nearly ready for new tyres, running Metzeler's at the minute. Always had and favoured Avon Road Riders in the past on R80's and K's. Any one experience of these on the F650? John

Here I go with SOME info again

If those Metzelers are Tourance, they are the best thing since sliced bread. Very grippy, very safe, brilliant. I've covered over 80,000 miles on Tourance on different bikes. Also was very happy to find Tourance on my recently acquired 800GS.

Strangely though, I am not as keen on Metzeler road tyres, I find they track white lines easily.

Of course Tourance are a traillie tyre. If you are purely on road, then I am not sure what the recommendation is for the ST.

Best roads: 623 Burgos to Santander. A back road to Metz; can't remember which!
Schorsch - 1978-80 R65 - Has gone. No, not talking about it.
Max - 2009 F800GS- where’s the desert at!?
Too many bikes have come and gone, trying to be sensible now!

Its an ME330 front and Lasertec rear. both road tyres. I agree with you on Metzelers white lining. Continentals were just as bad and always changed to Avons when the time came. Never did work out why BMW recommend them. Probably give the Road Riders a go.John
