Naahhh, I'm still with Rob. (Yes, I'm biased ! )

I've never seen the Brecon Beacons.
I'm hoping to get down to Wales for the club event mid-May, maybe I should extend the trip to visit that beautiful area ? . :-k

We will see if we can change your mind on the Welsh week ! It's less than a hour from Radnor revivals.

Me too!

The SWC300 was designed by Motorcycle Scotland and VSWS (Visit South West Scotland) adapted it to take in more attractions in the area. It is a circular route approximately 300 miles long, taking in the breath-taking coastline of Dumfries and Galloway and South Ayrshire, before heading across to Sanquhar, through to Moffat and finishing back in Dumfries.

So :

France. 1
Wales. 1
Scotland. 2

All great - any more ?

I don't have any videos, but I know that there are places in Spain, France, Croatia and Italy where I have felt compelled to stop and just soak in the scenery.
Photos (well, my photos anyway  ) can't convey the beauty or in some cases the feeling of the enormity and isolation of the area, but being there and seeing these places makes trips to these countries worthwhile. The beer / wine at night is just a bonus - honest ! :drunken:

Hi
about 7 or 8 years ago we had a club trip to Gorsebank at Dalbeattie,

I like the idea of that SWC300 route, is it 2 long days?
Dalbeatie>Stranraer day 1
Stranraer via Ayr > Dalbeatie day 2

+1 with what Mark says the Welsh roads are great as well.

I didn't mean to set a trend, but the idea was to show where we live (not necessarily where we went  ) with our airheads. Rob's breathtaking picture here gave me the idea...

I know and love the Brecons having been there on a number of occasions and for various reasons (is there still a bar in Llanthony Priory ruins?). I also love Snowdonia, The English Lake District and a number of other areas... The outstanding thing about Scotland is that it is so big and varied in a 'scenic' sense. If you exclude the central lowlands and some bits up the east coast, the whole country is made up of stunning scenery, and that in a country more than half the size of the whole of England. It varies enormously from the rolling uplands of the borders through the highlands and islands to the empty lands of Sutherland but it is all incredibly beautiful.

Of course. that's just my take. Some people like the flatlands of East Anglia and there is some great riding there but my preference has always been for a bit of 'verticality' in the landscape... each to his/her own.

Te videos are great but at what point in time did musical diarrhoea become preferable to listening to nature.

Most TV nature programmes are now rendered unwatchable the same way.

This is true and is what I do but we now have a generation of people that think that a murmuration of starlings make music like Mozart.

I recall someone saying to me, he didn’t like commentary on football (I don’t like football btw).

But I wouldn’t like to listen to athletics without commentary, I think it adds to it. Like music on YouTube. Just as long as it isn’t that loud graunchy crap they seem to put to all bike videos.

Not sure about bikes to Mozart, but something more middle of the road; pardon the pun
