New to the Forum

Postby Risson » Mon Feb 03, 2020 4:04 pm

Hello to you all from France!
I have been searching information and technical advice on your forum for the last 8 or 10 years when working on my airheads so I thought it was high time I joined the forum!
I ride a 1981 amazonic grün R100RT which I bought in 1991, present mileage is around 200000kms (not too sure about that as the odometer cable let me down a couple of times...
Have had quite a number of motorbikes in my life (I am 64) and this R100 is my third BMW, following a R60/2 combination with 75/5 engine and a 1981 R65. The other airhead I have owned was a monolever R80RT which I restored and equipped with a RS fairing.
I live in France 30miles north of Paris, near Chantilly.

Thanks a lot for your welcome!
I forgot to say I am also on a french forum called Flatistan, mainly a airhead only forum!
Oh, and I have also a great interest in classic sidecar racing, giving a hand to a friend who races a 16" MRE outfit with a somewhat special BMW engine...
We will probably be at Cadwell Park and Donington this season, for the Camathias Cup.

When you have dates, start a new thread and let us know where there will be racing and when.
I have no idea what a 16" MRE outfit is, but I would like to see a "somewhat special BMW engine" tackling Cadwell or Donington.
And welcome to the forum.

Hello Rob, you are perfectly right
Mike Richards used to work near Banbury

To Charlie Victor now, I think I have seen your bike at a friend's in Champigny/Yonne, am I right? (DPZ)
And yes, Chantilly is a nice town, plenty of forest all around, and plenty of animals crossing the road before you, one has to be very cautious when riding there.
