Yorkshire Lunch Meetings review

Postby P-K » Thu Dec 13, 2018 11:44 am

It's time, I think to review the Yorkshire Lunch Meetings we had this year, in readyness for me to put together the venues and dates for 2019.
As usual, I'd like thoughts and comments from those who attended, and those who would like to attend.
Any we should drop ?
Any new venues to consider ?
Any parts of Yorkshire we seem to ignore ?
Comments please !!

Fine.
Find a venue, tell us all about it, and I'll include it.
Every year I start this consultation - but the venues aren't up to me, they are for anyone to suggest.

Well done once again Phil for setting the thread off. could not make all the events in 2018 and will be away for May and June 2019 get togethers.
Thirsk Garden Centre has a good cafe and excellent choice of food for those who wish for more than a coffee and a bun. Prices are reasonable.
I see several bikers groups are starting to use the Cafe at the gliding club on Sutton Bank. I was not impressed with the car park there and have not yet been in.
Beadlam Farm Shop is still a good venue.
Pit stop Cafe at the old Ledestone luck colliery site Leeds LS25 7BF. good parking a bit of a greasy spoon venue.
Mustang Cafe at Sissett (Denby Dale road) off J39 M! small and gets busy.
Dearne Lea tea room Shelley Hudderfield HD8 8LJ some great roads round there near Emily Moor mast. great cakes.
Brymor ice cream at Masham Bank A6108
Lord Stones at Carlton Bank
Humber Bridge country Park Hessle (Providing the sun shines and you can sit outside when busy!)
Mr Moo's Ice cream parlour Skipsea YO25 8SY
Caenby Corner LN8 2AR Transport cafe.

Some of my thoughts and suggestions. I am as always happy to go with the flow. some I will attend some I won't
If any one else has any other suggestions just go for it.
Remember not everyone is willing to travel loads of miles for a lunch!
A good Idea could be to bring a friend. build the numbers.

Have a great Xmas and New Year.

Hi
I have posted a list of dates and places for the North West meetings including

May 2nd Fairholm Visitor centre S33 0AQ at 11am-- Derbyshire

https://www.peakdistrict.gov.uk/visitin ... es/derwent

The other places have been selected so that people dont have to cross the M62 or the Blob of Manchester

Thanks for the input everyone.
If you still want to suggest a new venue, just a couple of weeks left.
I'm off for some winter sun for a couple of weeks, and I intend to produce next year's list when I get back.

Hi
that's great, thanks PK, I will try to get there

Please look at the North West list and see if the one in Derbyshire [May 2nd Fairholm s33 0aq 11am] could be included in your list so the Yorkshire crew get a heads up of it. I have not been for a couple of years but they claim refreshments are still available. I will check in good time and confirm we can get a cup of tea.

I have planned a meet on Sunday 4th August Craven Motorcycle museum, £5 STOCKTON ON FOREST, YORK YO32 9UE http://www.cravencollection.co.uk/ and the Day after at Diggerland
