Welsh Week

Postby george baker » Tue Feb 26, 2019 9:02 pm

Hi
All Week in Friday 17-24th May 2019
We have booked a lodge at Radnor revivals http://www.radnorrevivals.com/prices.html
We plan to use 4 beds in a large lodge, a second lodge can be booked if we are overwhelmed with interest,
YOU MUST BE A CLUB MEMBER to attend--due to insurance cover--temporary membership may be available

£70 per person, 2 sold. Be quick and I think I can book an extra lodge but they are twin rooms
camping available, no price currently but cheap-ish

Hi George,

Please can you give me more details of the Welsh week, is it road or off road based, do you have any activities planned.

Also what are the sleeping arrangements I.E. single / twin / dorm etc , I ask out of consideration for others as when I went to the Alps my brother and mate found their ear plugs very useful due to my snoring when I have had a drink !

Thanks,

Mark

Hi
I will dig out the details, (my life has been a bit on hold, sorry)

All the events are here
http://www.bmridersclub.com/calendar.htm, it says

THE BIG ONE (For Club Members Only! A whole week away in beautiful Wales for 7 nights. Fabulous scenery, incredible biking roads! Price details to be finalised but the guide price for your planning purposes is £70 per person for the week (Yes, unbelievable ....... 70 quid for 7 nights accommodation in your own room). Accommodation in comfortable fully equipped lodges(www.radnorrevivals.com). One four bedroomed lodge has been booked. If we get commitments in time it may be possible to book a second lodge). Contact the Events Co-ordinator to express interest .....events@bmridersclubcom

what are the sleeping arrangements -- single, 3 rooms are twins but we plan to use them as singles, ATM I think I can book another cabin, there is camping available as well

Is it road or off road based -- All on roads but remember that in that area there are single lanes roads with passing places

Any activities planned -- NO, apart from a joint meal in the "Club House", last time we split into two groups, (GS, 100mph sweepers ---& slow coaches inc me) both groups went to the seaside but on different days, THRASH/Bibble about, that was weather dependent This year the FA Cup final is on so some may want to buy a few bears and watch that, TBH at the price you could book in and pop home from time to time without feeling robbed. Since you are a local we would be interested in your advice on where to go.

Remember, as a local you (or any club member) could just drop in or meet up- at a place you advise?

Keep asking cos it prompts me into action

Hi George,

I'm in, please reserve a room for me, Ill be in the slow coach group !

Please let me know about deposit / payments etc

The photos look great , thanks for the link.

I'm afraid I don't know mid Wales too well, I tend to ride around the Brecon beacons a lot when I grab a quick ride, otherwise I'm off to Stevenage, Meltham Dunstable etc visiting family or off on tour.

I do have another question, is there internet available in the cabin or on site ?

How about this for a ride out trip, it's highly rated and about 100 miles away from the site.

Any news regarding availability of internet ?

Hi
Any more interest?

It is a great place, see the pictures. https://photos.google.com/share/AF1QipP ... hGOUhrWjlB
Cheap £70, not just cheap for what you get, but CHEAP.
Great roads, 60+ mph sweeping bends (If you want to do that sort of thing) or just a gentle potter to look at the countryside
Places to see-- come to the seaside for chips or ice cream

Who is coming?

Just thought I'd mention , that as the European election is on while we are away , you may want to make provision for a proxy or mail vote before we go.

George,

Just seen your posting about a toilet each. As far as I can remember there are two in the lodge ......... that sounds like one each for Mark and myself, where are you going? :-)

Bryce

PS. I might head back on the Thursday rather than the Friday (in order to cast my vote). :-)

Just a quick update to say thanks to Bryce and George.

I had a great time with them and the venue Radnor Revivals was brilliant,

https://www.radnorrevivals.com/

We were blessed with great weather and some fantastic rides and views .
Nearby the Crossgates bikers cafe served a very good breakfast for £6.

The nearby roads are very good and popular with bikers at the weekend, during the week it was quieter and even better .

I highly recommend the Welsh week to all and the icing on the cake was it cost only £70 .

I intend to return !
