May I suggest you google earth Amersfoort centre, but in a nut shell, bar's cafe's, reasturants, shops and hotels. It;s a ride out to enjoy the freedom of the road. This trip could be completed over 2 days, but we thought leaving Friday night and crossing the Channel will take a lot of pressure off us for Saturdays ride into Amersfoort giving a bit more time to explore the town/city. We also dont have to worry about delays and the clock going forward, Sunday will be a straight ride home taking 5-6 hours from Amersfoort to Calais Can Tunnel with fuel stops etc, then 35 min tunnel journey (clock goes back on arrival) and then casually ride back home. Expecting to be back in Dunstable around 17:00 or sooner.

.
Fair enough. I've ridden round Amersfoort but never visited the centre. Just thought I might have been missing something special, but I'm sure it will be a pleasant enough place for a visit - enjoy !
