Wind Deflector for R1200ST

Postby skida » Wed Jan 13, 2021 8:10 pm

I am finding the screen a little short on my new (old) baby and there is a lot of wind noise. Looking at various videos on the 'tube I see some bikes have a wind deflector clamped to the top of the screen. My questions are: Has anyone any experience of one fitted? Do they make much difference? Would you recommend any particular make?

I've fitted the Vario-Ergo+ 3D from Wunderlich (link below). It seems to help me at 6' 1".
Similar clone copies on ebay. Search item number 252733201876 and 223566211027.

I invested £13 in a cheap ebay one from china, knowing full well it would fall to bits after 3 weeks....

But it didn’t, it stayed where it was, even after 5000 miles around europe in 2019, and loads on crappy U.K. roads, and after a few minor adjustments it worked very well. Noise and wind buffeting has gone down a lot.

I replaced it last year as my bike fell over and smashed it. The price had gone up to £14

Not sure if this ebay link will work, but mine was similar to this:

1997 BMW R1100R
1993 Honda Transalp 600

After the first couple of replies, I got excited and ordered one off ebay for £18. It has one clip, in the centre. Then I looked at the bike's screen. DOH! It may work and I'll find out on Thursday, if the predicted arrival date is accurate. Whatever happens, lesson learned - check bike before ordering anything!
